Hi at all,

ich suche die Band zum Titel "Back home to Donegal" ,wenn der Titel so heist.
Es ist ein sehr bekannter Song.

Vielleicht koennt Ihr mir ja auch noch eine sehr gute CD mit den rhythmischen Songs empfehlen.

das Ding von Christy Moore auf "Ride On" heißt "Back Home In Derry" (Text: Bobby Sands/Musik: Gordon Lightfoot).

ein Song mit dem Titel "Back Home To Donegal" ist mir leider nicht bekannt. Vielleicht meinst du ja auch "City Of Chicago" von Christy Moores Bruder Barry (= Luka Bloom). Dort heißt es im Chorus:

In the City of Chicago
as the evening shadows fall
there are people dreaming
of the hills of Donegal.

Den Song findest du auch auf "Ride On" von Christy Moore.

Danke fuer eure Antworten,

aber das ist wahrscheinlich nicht der Song.
Das Lied hoert man eigentlich sehr oft in einem Irish Gift shop in Dublin oder wenn man in einem Pub in Donegal ist.

Der Song koennte aber auch etwas mit "Johny und Whisky" oder "Whisky und John" heissen.

Der Refrain ist wirklich "Back home to Donegal"

Es gibt tatsächlich einen Song mit dem Titel "Home To Donegal", und zwar von Michael Bracken. Bekannter dürfte allerdings die Version von Daniel O'Donnell sein (auf: "Greatest Hits", gibt's zurzeit nur im englischsprachigen Raum, z.B. http://sale-depot.net/music/item/B000087N0D/).

Wenn dir die folgenden Zeilen bekannt vorkommen ...

The thoughts of homeland are crowding my mind

"Whiskey in the Jar" The Dubliners
Hier lautet eine Zeile im Refrain "Back home to Donegal"
Ich danke euch trtzdem fuer eure Bemuehungen mir zu helfen.

Die Version kenne ich nicht, hier ist die Version, die ich kenne:

I am sorry.
Ich habe wahrscheinlich schon die Zeile falsch verstanden aber das hoert sich wirklich irgendwie wie "back home to Donegal" an aber es wird wohl das andere sein.
